Manchester United do not seem to have any use for Rasmus Hojlund, now that they have landed Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

The Dane struggled in his sophomore campaign in England, netting a meagre four times in the Premier League, while also receiving plenty of criticism for his general gameplay.

He is eager to stay and fight for his place, but Ruben Amorim sent him a brutal message when he chose not to hand him any minutes in the final pre-season game against Fiorentina last weekend.

AC Milan are reportedly in pole position, having already agreed a loan fee with the Red Devils. There remains a gap with regards to the buy option.

AC Milan have company

The Rossoneri have set the Denmark international a weeks’ time to decide his own future, and this wait has allowed other teams to enter the race.

There is interest from four other Serie A sides, while Newcastle are also monitoring proceedings with interest.

The Magpies are not the only English top-flight club looking at the 22-year-old, with The Daily Mail claiming Fulham are also keen.

The Cottagers are all set to lose Rodrigo Muniz, who has been the subject of bids from Atalanta. And Marco Silva feels United’s No.9 can fill that void.

However, they want to ascertain whether the ex-Atalanta ace has any wish of relocating to London, before placing an official offer with the 20-time English league champions.

“Fulham are showing tentative interest in Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund. The Cottagers are weighing up a move for the Denmark international as Rodrigo Muniz is the subject of bids from Atalanta.

Another PL side in the fray

“AC Milan have been in talks with United for Hojlund and have offered a £4.5million loan fee with an option to buy for £39m.

“However, Hojlund has been digging in his heels saying he wants to stay and fight for his place – despite Benjamin Sesko arriving for £73million as part of a new look £200m frontline.

“Fulham would need to know Hojlund wants to come before making a suitable offer.”

Given there are so many clubs chasing the Danish striker, INEOS will be hoping to get rid of him permanently instead of having to sanction a loan with a buy option.

With Sesko yet to regain full fitness, Rasmus Hojlund could be potentially needed in the Premier League opener against Arsenal.

Once he does depart, United are expected to accelerate in their plans to recruit Brighton and Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba to strengthen their midfield.
