Paris Saint Germain claimed all three points after a 4-2 win over Monaco on Wednesday, but all attention will be on the fitness of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

As the top two clubs in Ligue 1, this would always be a tasty clash, but things turned out to be concerning after only 19 minutes.

Wilfried Singo raced down the right wing and cut inside toward the box before lifting his leg and catching the Italian goalkeeper in the face with his studs.

Donnarumma received staples on the pitch and was replaced by Matvei Safonov, all before his teammates grabbed the lead immediately after the incident via Desire Doue.

The second half then delivered just as much drama. And given things were only 1-0, Monaco found a way to turn it all around.

A mistake from PSG saw Eliesse Ben Seghir step up to the penalty spot, and he smashed home the equaliser despite Safonov's correct guess.

In a flash, the hosts grabbed the lead via Breel Embolo, who finished off a ball from Maghnes Akliouche from point-blank range into the far right corner.

Then perhaps fatigue played a role as PSG dug deep to turn it around themselves.

Ousmane Dembele made it 13 goals and assists in 15 Ligue 1 matches this season with a tap in before racing through at the death and scoring the late fourth.

The match winner, however, arrived off the bench as Goncalo Ramos rose highest and thumped the ball home.
