Fiorentina once again asserts itself as an unbeatable side in the Primavera Coppa Italia, against AC Milan's Primavera team. The match ended 4-2 at Viola Park, marking the end of Abate’s lads journey in the competition after victories against Virtus Entella, Sampdoria, and Empoli. The regret is even more significant because, apart from the bitter ending that forced meant elimination while still in from the knockout stage, the Rossoneri were up 2-0 after less than a quarter of an hour – with goals scored by Simmelhack from the penalty spot and Cuenca – but they were overtaken; the equaliser came before the half-hour mark, and the third and fourth goals were scored by the Viola in the second half.
The approach and performance were flawless, to begin with; the Primavera undoubtedly started the match off in perfect fashion, but they quickly squandered; the precious double advantage was lost, just when they seemed to be in full control, the precious double advantage was lost; Abate’s side made a few too many mistakes. Then, they were surprised by the Fiorentina side, without showing the necessary strength necessary to overturn the deficit as time passed, they just could not get anything going. A shame. The Coppa Italia may be over, but the season continues; in the short term, the league will soon come knocking on the door: on Sunday 14 January at 13:00 CET at the PUMA House of Football, AC Milan will face Torino, the first opportunity to put this stumble behind them and focus on strengthening their position at the top of the table.

MATCH REPORT AC Milan was ahead early in the game. In the 3rd minute thanks to Malaspina's high pressing, who recovered the ball and was fouled in the box by Amatucci, earning a penalty: from the spot, Simmelhack’s kick wasn’t flawless, but he still converted past Martinelli from the spot. In the 4th minute, another chance for Simmelhack, again after an opposition mistake in the build-up, but this time the goalkeeper saves. It's a lethal start for the Primavera side; the second goal comes in the 12th minute with Cuenca, who sprints and shoots, finding the decisive deflection off Biagetti. But Fiorentina doesn't back down, and in the 14th minute, they narrow the gap: Caprini's header ahead from the a corner. In the 18th minute, Harder's attempt was blocked by Raveyre, in the 23rd minute, Cuenca's left-footed shot went wide. It's a crazy game; in the 28th minute, Caprini scored a second - an easy tap-in on Scuderi's assist – to equal s the score. Malaspina tries to lead the reaction:; in the 31st minute, he collects a short clearance and hits the post from outside the box, while Cuenca tries again in the 34th minute, but Martinelli saves. Stalmach takes the stage: at in the 40th minute, a volley, and at in the 43rd minute, a header sent high. The first half ended: 2-2.
The start of the second half is very similar to the first, but with the roles reversed: with Raveyre and Stalmach's lightness in support, Amatucci takes advantage, and in the 46th minute, Braschi finds the corner for the lead from close range. It seems like the continuation of a match full of emotions; however, the immediate lead cools down the offensive spirits. The numerous changes don't alter the score or provoke any particular dangerous actions; for the Rossoneri, almost the only highlight was a break by Bonomi in the 71st minute with a right-footed shot blocked by Martinelli. Apart from a few flashes from Cuenca, the game develops mainly on the wing without foreseeing the finalization. The Viola didn't take any risks and in stoppage time they took advantage of a mistake by Paloschi, Sene flew towards Raveyre and slotted it into the back of the net with ease. Final whistle: 4-2.
