Benjamin Sesko will not be completing his anticipated move to Arsenal this summer after a deal failed to materialise with RB Leipzig.
The German outfit stood firm in their £78 million valuation of Sesko since the start of the window and, given that he is tied to the club until 2029, they were under no pressure to cave and accept any lowball offers.
And that they didn’t, hence Arsenal’s decision to put their interest in Sesko on the back-burner and turn their attention to Viktor Gyokeres, whom they are now expected to sign after he informed Sporting Lisbon that he would not be training or playing for the side if he were not granted his desired summer exit.

It leaves Sesko now mulling over his future, having been preparing to start plying his trade in the Premier League in 2025/2026.
Reports have suggested that he is happy to stay put with Leipzig for another year and won’t agitate the board by engineering a move elsewhere, but the 22-year-old does have his sights set on a switch to the English top flight.
As such, his agents have reportedly reached out to a handful of clubs to try and gauge the feasibility of them meeting Leipzig’s demands.
According to TBR Football, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United have all been approached by the Slovenian’s entourage in the aftermath of his collapsed Emirates transfer.
Of the quartet, the Red Devils and Liverpool are actively in pursuit of a centre-forward, though the latter will have to facilitate Darwin Nunez’s departure first.
From United’s perspective, they’re likely to be priced out of any potential deal for Sesko – who’s been lauded by the official Bundesliga site for showing ‘shades of Erling Haaland’ up front – unless they can sanction the outgoings of outcast players Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Marcus Rashford.
Sesko has notched 39 goals and eight assists in 87 appearances for Die Roten Bullen.
