Phil Foden has left England's Euro 2024 camp and returned home due to a 'pressing family matter', the FA have confirmed.
The forward will head back to the United Kingdom for an unspecified length of time.
A brief statement from the FA on Wednesday read: "Phil Foden has temporarily left the England camp and returned to the UK for a pressing family matter."
Foden has started all three of England's Euro 2024 matches so far, with the Three Lions finishing top of Group C to qualify for the last 16.
The 24-year-old has so far been unable to replicate his fine club form at international level and is yet to register a goal or assist at the tournament - he tallied 27 goals and 12 assists for Manchester City during the 2023/24 season.
Foden's dip in form has widely been blamed on being utilised as a touchline left winger by England boss Gareth Southgate. He played all 90 minutes of their 1-0 win against Serbia but was substituted during the second half of their 1-1 and 0-0 draws with Denmark and Slovenia respectively.
England will face of the best-ranked third place teams in their last 16 tie in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday evening. They will discover their exact opponents following the conclusion of the group stage on Wednesday night.
