Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that OH Leuven have left out their record signing for a training camp in Oisterwijk. The 25 man squad travelling to the Netherlands will not include Jonatan Braut Brunes. The 23-year-old striker, cousin of Manchester City was bought from Norwegian side Strømsgodset for around €2.6m last summer. The club gave the forward a contract until 2026, but it appears that after just one season they will part ways.
OH Leuven have been searching for a new striker since the departure of Thomas Henry a few seasons ago. Brunes was their record signing as a club, but it has not worked out for either party. In 33 games for the side the forward scored just three goals and spent most of his time coming off the bench.
During his time with Strømsgodset the striker played 33 games across two Eliteserien seasons, scoring 14 goals and grabbing three assists. He moved to Godset after an incredible run of form in the Norwegian second tier scoring 12 goals in 15 games. There will certainly be sides in Norway willing to bring him in to boost their current Eliteserien campaigns.
