Players from two of Spanish football’s leading clubs have been included in the latest squad called upon by the Argentine national team this week.
Argentina are primed to return to action early next month, as part of the September international break.
Lionel Scaloni’s troops have been pencilled in for a pair of World Cup qualifiers, first against Venezuela, and then Ecuador.
This week, the country’s headmaster was in turn tasked with choosing the squad of players who will be tasked with extending the Albiceleste’s advantage atop the CONMEBOL standings.
And as alluded to above, as much has now been made official.
Featuring front and centre is new Real Madrid signing Franco Mastantuono, who could be afforded his Blancos debut as soon as this evening.
And also called upon are a quartet of players from the other half of the Madrid divide, in the form of Atlético stars Nahuel Molina, Thiago Almada, Julián Alvarez and Giuliano Simeone.
Despite recent injury concerns, captain and talisman Lionel Messi has been selected by namesake Scaloni, too.
