Three days before the start of the Ligue 2 season, the fates of US Boulogne CO and AC Ajaccio were finally confirmed.

Last month, Ajaccio had received confirmation that they would be relegated from the second tier of French football to the third (Championnat National) due to financial troubles. However, the Corsican club had indicated that they would appeal this decision to the CNOSF.

Ajaccio had until the 6th of August to lodge their appeal, but the deadline came and went, meaning that by the end of the day, Boulogne could breathe a sigh of relief, just three days before Ligue 2 officially starts the 2025/26 season.

Boulogne were scheduled to play SC Bastia on the 9th of August. However, this match has been rescheduled due to the uncertainty surrounding the Côte d’Opale club. The newly promoted side will instead kickstart their campaign on the 15th of August when they travel to AS Nancy, before hosting AS Saint-Étienne on the 23rd.
