Matheus Nunes was left elated after scoring his first Premier League goal for City in the 94th minute to earn a dramatic 2-1 victory over Aston Villa.
The Portuguese sparked wild scenes at a jubilant Etihad Stadium after turning into the net from Jeremy Doku's cross, sending us up into third in the Premier League table.
Bernardo Silva had put us ahead after seven minutes, before Marcus Rashford levelled for Villa from the penalty spot 11 minutes later.
James McAtee came close for Pep Guardiola's men but it was Nunes who was the hero in the dying seconds, leaving our Champions League qualification hopes in our own hands with four matches left to play in the league.
When asked in a post-match interview about the significance of his first league strike for the Club, Nunes said: "It was very important. Perfect timing! It couldn’t have come at a better time. Yeah it was amazing.
"I mean this was a very tough game and a very tough opponent. We came with the mentality that we needed to win this game and that’s what happened."We will see at the end of the season how big it will be. Every three points now will be very important. We will go for every game for the three points."
Guardiola's side are still in contention to earn silverware before the end of the domestic season, with an FA Cup semi-final encounter with Nottingham Forest this Sunday.
Nunes revealed that the team want to keep this winning feeling going into that competition also.
"We’re going to try to win there as well. Of course we want to lift the trophy," he declared.
"It is a very important game for us to try and win the semi-final and then go for the final.
"Hopefully we do."
