Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Liverpool left back Konstantinos Tsimikas, according to The Athletic.
Forest need more left-back options, and manager Nuno Espirito Santo has identified Tsimikas as an ideal candidate to bolster that position.
Tsimikas is valued at £15.5 million on Transfermarkt, but Forest may try to convince Liverpool to sell him for a lower fee.
Leeds United are also interested, but Forest have the upper hand.
Forest can offer Tsimikas Europa League football after taking Crystal Palace’s place in the tournament thanks to UEFA’s multi-club ownership rules.
The Greece international is surplus to requirements and is set to leave Liverpool this summer.
Tsimikas was left out of Liverpool’s squad for their FA Community Shield defeat against Palace at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
He was heavily involved with Arne Slot’s squad during pre-season, but he will struggle to get a look in this season following Milos Kerkez’s arrival.
The Hungarian left back joined Liverpool from Bournemouth in a £40m deal earlier this summer.
He was touted as a long-term successor to Andrew Robertson, who was strongly linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.
However, Tsimikas may eventually be the one to make way. The 29-year-old joined Liverpool from Olympiacos in 2020.
He went on to make 115 appearances for the Reds, returning 18 assists. He played 66 times in the Premier League, so he has sufficient experience under his belt.
Forest have been busy this summer, bolstering the squad with the addition of Angus Gunn, Dan Ndoye, Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha.
