Napoli are in the hunt for new wingers and are making an attempt to bring Jadon Sancho to Serie A. Juventus tried and failed last summer. He eventually left Manchester United to join Chelsea on loan, but he didn’t shine and wasn’t retained.
Per Gianluca Di Marzio, the main problem for the Partenopei is the 25-year-old’s salary. However, he’s under contract only until 2026. The Red Devils are looking for ways to salvage the situation as well. The Blues paid a penalty to avoid purchasing him through a conditioned obligation to buy. He scored 5 goals and provided 10 assists in 42 appearances last season. Half of his goal contributions were in the Conference League.
In addition to Sancho, Napoli keep working on Dan Ndoye, but Bologna are resisting. He’s at the top of their list. The Azzurri wish to pull off a double deal involving also Sam Beukema, Alfredo Pedullà informs. They are ready to pounce on Federico Chiesa, who wants to come back to Italy.
At this stage, the Scudetto champions haven’t rekindled their interest in Alejandro Garnacho. He’s on his way out, but he’s prioritizing staying in England, Fabrizio Romano reports (via Yahoo). They continue to eye Ademola Lookman, but they consider Atalanta’s price tag too, €60M, too high since he’s 28, Radio Kiss Kiss reports.
Thanks to the versatility of De Bruyne and Giacomo Raspadori, and Antonio Conte, one super-duper winger who can play on both flanks could be enough. They are all difficult deals for different reasons. They might have to decide whether to make an effort on the fee or the salary.
