Paris Saint-Germain cruised to a 3-0 victory over Stade Brestois in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League knockout play-off on Tuesday night at Stade de Roudourou, with Ousmane Dembélé scoring twice.
Unless Brest pull off a remarkable comeback, PSG look set to face either Barcelona or Liverpool in the Round of 16. This dominant performance highlights the impressive form Luis Enrique’s side has been in recently.
In their last four matches, PSG have outscored opponents 14-3, claiming wins against RB Salzburg, Manchester City, VfB Stuttgart, and now Brest. A key factor behind this strong run is the emergence of young talent stepping up their game.

PSG are 3-0 up against Stade Brestois in their play-off and look set to easily advance to the next round ahead of next week’s return leg at the Parc des Princes. Should it PSG advance, they’ll face either FC Barcelona or Liverpool
Unbeaten in the league, Les Parisiens are finally carrying their strong domestic form into European competition. Speaking to Get French Football News, AS Monaco manager Adi Hütter believes PSG have what it takes to go all the way, which would mean defeating either the English or Spanish side.
“At the moment, they are one of the best teams in Europe, really one of the best,” Hütter said. “They are able to win the Champions League.”
Recently, ESPN’s Julien Laurens was asked whether he sees Luis Enrique and his team pulling off the upset against Barcelona or Liverpool in the next phase of the competition.
“I think they are a serious threat to anyone,” Laurens said on ESPN FC. “We saw that, especially in the last two, two and a half months, when they really clicked. This is a wonderful team—a very young one. That’s why I don’t think they are quite ready to beat Liverpool over two legs, with the second leg away from home.
“We don’t know yet whether Barcelona or Liverpool will be their opponent, but we know for sure the second leg will be away from Paris, while the first leg will be at the Parc des Princes.”
