Martin Ødegaard gets married again in secret ceremony attended by Arsenal stars | OneFootball

Martin Ødegaard has formally celebrated his marriage to long-time partner Helene Spilling with a discreet but lavish ceremony in Norway, attended by several of his Arsenal team-mates.

Although the couple were officially registered as married in November last year, this weekend marked the public celebration of their union.

The 26-year-old Arsenal and Norway captain changed his marital status in the national register late last year, while Spilling, 29, updated her name to Helene Spilling Ødegaard. The pair became parents shortly after, announcing the birth of their son in December 2024 with a post that read: “We love you so much, our little baby boy.”

The celebrations began in characteristically low-key fashion. While there had been speculation that something was being planned in the Oslo area, the details were tightly guarded.

On Friday morning, a stream of private jets began arriving at the VIP terminal at Oslo’s Gardermoen airport. Among the early arrivals were Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard, followed later by Kai Havertz, one of Ødegaard’s closest friends.

The next day, guests gathered in Gjerdrum, Spilling’s hometown. Even the local mayor, Karl-Arne Johannessen, appeared to be caught off guard. “What’s going on in Gjerdrum Church, you say? Martin Ødegaard and Helene are getting married? I thought they got married in the autumn?” he told Dagbladet, speaking from the checkout line in his local supermarket.

Shortly after 2 pm, Martin and Helene exited Gjerdrum Church to cheers and a rendition of All You Need Is Love, before departing in a vintage car.
