The Cameroonian midfielder from Brighton has caught the eye of the Red Devils.
Carlos Baleba / Manchester United
Carlos Baleba is one of the most promising midfielders in the Premier League. The Brighton & Hove Albion player is seen as a strategic reinforcement in midfield. His dynamic and technically sound profile appeals to United's management, who are eager to inject youth and energy into the heart of the team.
While Manchester United's interest is genuine and concrete, the club does not yet have the financial flexibility required to submit a significant offer to Brighton for Carlos Baleba. Behind the scenes, several departures are being considered to free up the wage bill and generate funds.
Indeed, players like Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho are seen as potential departures should a satisfactory offer arise. Although Garnacho is highly regarded internally for his potential, his market value makes him a possible bargaining chip for reinvestment. Manchester United could therefore push ahead with the Carlos Baleba deal once one of these exits is finalized.
This would pave the way for a more ambitious offer. On Brighton's side, the position is clear. Carlos Baleba is not for sale this summer, unless a €120 million offer comes in. Having arrived from LOSC in the summer of 2023 for around €27 million, the Cameroonian still has plenty of room for development and is part of the Seagulls' long-term project. The club wants to keep their player at least until 2026, believing his value could rise further after another season or two in the Premier League.
