Manchester United are interested in signing Koni De Winter in the summer transfer window, according to TMW.
The report in the Italian news outlet has revealed that Man Utd, who have been linked with Crystal Palace star Jean-Philippe Mateta, are competing with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of De Winter in the summer transfer window.
West Ham United are claimed to have shown interest in the 22-year-old Belgium international, who can play as a central defender as well as a full-back.
Genoa are ready to sell De Winter at the end of the season, with the Italian club looking for a transfer fee of €30 million (£25.30 million) for the youngster, who, according to his agent Fabrizio Lioi in TuttoJuve in December 2021, is “tactically intelligent” and “technically good”
Italian giants Inter Milan, Napoli and AS Roma all have been impressed by De Winter and would like to sign him this summer.
Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are interested in De Winter as well, according to the report.
TMW has added that many clubs in recent weeks have moved to “ask for information” for the former Juventus prospect, who will “give priority to the most ambitious project to take a further step in his career”.
De Winter is a bright prospect in Serie A and has a long and successful future ahead of him.
While Man United are arguably the biggest club in England, they have lost their aura and do not even challenge for the UEFA Champions League places in the Premier League table anymore.
With the likes of Inter and Napoli interested in De Winter, it is hard to see the Belgium international pick Man United over them.
Inter are the defending Italian champions who could win Serie A this season yet again as well as clinch the UEFA Champions League.
Napoli are one of the biggest clubs in Italy who could end up winning the Scudetto this campaign.
