Manchester United’s summer plans are getting off to a exciting start with INEOS attacking the market early to bolster Erik ten Hag’s first team squad before the pre-season tour of the USA.

Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee is set to be the first signing of the INEOS era and United are expected to add many further names over the coming weeks.

United are hoping to improve their options across the park, including in the midfield area, having been far too easy to play against last season.

INEOS seem to be scouting the market wisely and will be looking toward the future as well as improving Ten Hag’s options for the upcoming campaign.

As reported by Football Insider, United have “made contact” with West Ham United youngster Chinaza Nwosu.

The 16-year-old midfielder is highly rated and is drawing interest from all the top clubs up and down the country.

However, the Hammers appear to have fended off the competition, having reportedly agreed a deal with the player to sign a professional contact as soon as he turns 17.

FA regulations state that he can’t sign a professional contract at 16, but having pre-agreed to the deal with West Ham, he will sign it on his next birthday.

Despite agreeing to stay in London, a move to United might have been tempting for Nwosu given United’s excellent record when developing young talent.

The same can be said for Erik ten Hag, who has a history of trusting youth throughout his managerial career – a theme he has continued at Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo have been the standout youngsters that have burst onto the scene under Ten Hag, with the pair enjoying fine campaigns last time out.

The duo are now both in major international finals this weekend for their respective countries, highlighting their development under the Dutchman’s tutelage.

United look set to miss out on this particular deal but INEOS are clearly keeping their eyes peeled for potential stars of the future which is good news for the fans.
