Man City join the race for Barcelona star | OneFootball

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are expressing a keen interest in the potential signing of an out-of-favour member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona.

That’s according to Diario AS, who of course point to Marc-André ter Stegen as the player in question.

Shot-stopper Ter Stegen is for his part widely expected to be on the move before the summer is out.

Whilst the German is continuing to stand firm, adamant that he will be going nowhere over the weeks ahead, his relegation to 3rd-choice in Hansi Flick’s squad is ultimately expected to prove too much to look past.

A whole host of clubs from across Europe, in turn, have been tipped as potential landing spots for Ter Stegen with a view to next season.

And as alluded to above, this week, a new suitor is understood to have entered the fray.

As per a report from AS:

‘This whole situation has put Manchester City on alert, considering the idea of finding a reliable replacement for Ederson.’

Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray, meanwhile, are also continuing to keep a close eye on the situation.
