Liverpool are prepared to listen to loan offers for Kostas Tsimikas with the defender expected to leave Anfield.

Tsimikas was not included in the Liverpool squad for the Community Shield or Friday’s Premier League opener against Bournemouth.

The Greek international has been deemed surplus to requirements this season, following the £40m arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. Arne Slot also has Andy Robertson as an option at left-back, freeing Tsimikas to leave.

Nottingham Forest and Leeds United expressed interest in signing the 29-year-old earlier this summer but each have now moved on to alternative targets.

However, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Liverpool’s openness to a loan move could increase interest.

Tsimikas has made 115 appearances for the Reds across five seasons, having joined from Olympiacos in 2020. The full-back has largely deputised for Robertson and could now seek a more prominent first-team role.
