PSG are keeping tabs on Ibrahima Konaté, but they aren’t the only club monitoring the Liverpool center-back. Real Madrid are also reportedly in the race, with interest heating up as the summer transfer window nears. Konaté’s contract runs until 2026, but that hasn’t stopped clubs from circling.
With Milan Skriniar expected to make a permanent exit—he’s currently on loan at Fenerbahçe—PSG are starting to look at defensive reinforcements. While a move isn’t believed to be close, the club appears to be laying the groundwork for life after Skriniar.
This isn’t the first time PSG have been linked to Konaté. Reports from Anfield Watch back in February suggested the club were already eyeing him. A Paris native who came through Paris FC’s youth system before breaking out at RB Leipzig, Konaté is seen as a potential long-term piece for the back line—and one of PSG’s top targets this summer.

Foot Mercato reported on Thursday that Ibrahima Konaté has been offered to Real Madrid, PSG, Barcelona, and other top clubs with a view toward 2026.
Contract talks with Liverpool have reportedly stalled, and the French center-back is open to a new challenge. While several teams are monitoring the situation, Konaté is said to prefer a move to Real Madrid.
A recent report from Sports Zone suggests there’s no major change in Ibrahima Konaté’s situation for now, but PSG believe time is on their side. The club remains patient as it closely monitors the Liverpool defender’s status.
PSG’s long-term vision includes forming a top-level defensive trio of Willian Pacho, Illya Zabarnyi, and Konaté. They’re in no rush and are willing to wait another year for that plan to come together.
