Liverpool have confirmed the Merseyside derby called off last month has been rearranged for Wednesday 12 February.
The Reds were scheduled to make the short journey to Everton in early December, only for the fixture to be postponed after severe weather warnings left Merseyside Police advising against unnecessary travel.
Both sides have been operating with games in hand over their opponents but things will be tied up next month when Liverpool again make the stone's throw trip to Goodison Park.
It will almost certainly be the final Merseyside derby at Goodison, with Everton set to move to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock at the end of the season. The only exception to that would be both sides winning their respective FA Cup fourth round fixtures and getting drawn together later.
Crucially, this fixture date remains subject to Liverpool's Champions League performance as it falls on the same date as the knockout play-off round. The Reds currently sit top of the table and need just one point from their remaining two fixtures to guarantee automatic qualification for the last 16, which will almost certainly come anyway given their imposing position in the standings.
Liverpool also sit top of the Premier League, opening up an imposing lead over the likes of Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Chelsea despite playing one game fewer than those around them.
Everton, meanwhile, have just welcomed David Moyes back to the dugout as they look to climb away from the relegation zone. The Toffees currently sit one point clear at the time of the announcement.
