Kylian Mbappe has told many of his teammates he expects Thomas Tuchel to have a significant impact on the England squad when he begins work in January, a report has claimed.

After Gareth Southgate's departure, England moved quickly to strike a deal with Tuchel, who won six trophies at the helm of a Paris Saint-Germain side that revolved around Mbappe between 2018 and 2020.

Hiring Tuchel was a significant show of intent from the English FA, and according to the Daily Mail, it's one which has impressed Mbappe.

Mbappe is said to have spoken incredibly positively of Tuchel and England's future in conversations with his international teammates, many of whom will likely face the Three Lions at the 2026 World Cup.

The Frenchman has played more games under Tuchel than any other manager in his career, coming two shy of 100 appearances. In his 98 outings, Mbappe racked up 83 goals and 46 assists - no manager has brought more out of him in his career so far.

During their shared time in Paris, there were reports of tension between Mbappe and Tuchel over the boss' willingness to substitute his star forward. Mbappe was often spotted animating his frustrations on the touchline.

However, when Tuchel was relieved of his duties in December 2020, Mbappe did not hide his respect for the German boss.

He wrote on Instagram: "It is sadly the law of football. Nobody will forget your time here. You wrote a wonderful part of the club's history and I say to you: 'thank you, coach'."
