Kit numbers Manuel Ugarte could choose as Manchester United deal moves closer

Manchester United look set to confirm the summer signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte in the coming days.

Ineos have been busy in their first summer in charge with several players arriving at Old Trafford with Ugarte looking likely to be the latest summer addition.

Erik ten Hag has been keen to add a defensive midfielder to his ranks as he looks to progress and improve his United side.

The former Ajax coach looks like he has got his main midfield target ahead of the approaching transfer deadline.

Ahead of his move, several shirt numbers are available for the Uruguayan midfielder to take up ahead of securing his move to the Red Devils.

Manchester United Kit number choices for Manuel Ugarte

The 23-year-old midfielder currently dons the number four shirt for PSG. However, summer signing Matthijs De Ligt has chosen the number four shirt at Old Trafford.

The midfielder has previously worn number 15 at Sporting but similarly new signing Leny Yoro currently wears 15 for United.

Ugarte has represented Uruguay on several occasions wearing a variety of different shirt numbers including the number 25 shirt. 25 is currently worn at United by Jadon Sancho, who could still leave Old Trafford before the deadline.

The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder has worn the number 26 earlier in his career which is currently vacant in Ten Hag’s side and could be a realistic option for the pending arrival.

Another option that could appeal to Ugarte is the number 19 shirt. The 19 shirt has been most recently worn by Raphael Varane who departed Old Trafford this summer after his contract expired.

The number 19 shirt has previously been worn by the likes of Marcus Rashford, Edwin Van Der Sar and Dwight Yorke.

Other options that Ugarte could choose include number 13, 27, 29, and 30.
