A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has suffered a setback in his efforts to return to the pitch.
That’s according to The Athletic, who highlight Eduardo Camavinga as the player in question.
Youngster Camavinga was for his part of course forced to sit out the final weeks of the 2024/25 season, as well as Real Madrid’s Club World Cup campaign.
This came owing to a muscular injury suffered back in April.
The Frenchman has spent recent weeks ramping up his recovery efforts, with a view to being available to new boss Xabi Alonso for the start of the 2025/26 term.
As alluded to above, however, this week, such hopes on Camavinga’s part have been dealt a blow.
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is facing a race against time to be fit for the start of the La Liga season after sustaining an ankle injury. The scale of the issue is currently unclear, though it is an injury which typically takes a period of weeks from which to make a full recovery.’
