Marco Tardelli feels that Inter Milan have “superior quality” to Juventus, but that the Bianconeri are starting to look like themselves.

The legendary former Bianconeri and Nerazzurri midfielder, and former Inter coach, spoke to the Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, ahead of tomorrow’s Derby d’Italia in Serie A.

Inter Milan take on Juventus in Serie A tomorrow evening.

Perhaps on paper, Inter are the favourites. They go into the match eleven points ahead of their Derby d’Italia rivals.

However, clashes between the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri are rarely straightforward occasions.

Moreover, the match is being played in Juventus’s stadium in Turin. That could certainly be a factor.

The last time that Inter and Juventus faced off, it was a wild 4-4 draw.

Inter had been leading 4-2 towards the end of the match. But two goals from substitute Kenan Yildiz managed to erase that two-goal lead, ending one of the most memorable Derby d’Italia matches in some time.

Tardeli: “Inter Have Superior Quality, But Juventus Looking Like Juventus”

Former Italy midfielder and 1982 World Cup winner Tardelli had experience with both Juventus and Inter. He played for the Bianconeri for the bulk of his career before a stint at the Nerazzurri.

Meanwhile, Marco Tardelli also had a short spell as Inter coach in the early 2000s.

Tardelli argued that “These matches never have a favourite.”

“For their superior quality I’d say Inter,” he added. “But I’d be very careful about that.”

“Already when I was playing, there was never a favourite between Juve and Inter,” Tardelli looked back.

“Based on the quality of their squad I’d have to say Inter. But Juve have now started to be Juve.”

“They don’t necessarily play well,” he noted. “But they’re learning how to win.”
