Julien Stéphan is set to sign as the new manager of Queens Park Rangers (QPR), according to a report from L’Équipe. The Frenchman is expected to sign a two-year deal with the option for a further year.

The London club are actively searching for a new head coach after parting ways with Spaniard Martí Cifuentes at the end of the season. Cifuentes was dismissed after holding talks with other English clubs without informing QPR’s hierarchy. The Hoops finished 15th in the second tier, where they currently count Jonathan Varane—the younger half-brother of Raphaël Varane—among their ranks.

Stéphan has been out of work since leaving Stade Rennais towards the start of last season, however, he has been keen on getting back to work and was particularly open to a move to an EFL Championship club, Get French Football News understands.

That opportunity arose with QPR. He is on the verge of putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with the option of a further year.
