Manchester City could be subject to a surprise transfer proposal for Jack Grealish this summer, according to new information emerging this week.

The England international is currently in the process of working towards the new season, after a summer that left him “heartbroken” in light of his exclusion from Gareth Southgate’s squad for the European Championships.

Speaking in an open and honest interview with reporters in the USA, Grealish explained, “I’ll be honest, football-wise, it was the most difficult thing that I’ve ever had to deal with in terms of my own career. I was absolutely heartbroken.

“When you’re on your holiday, every time you turn on your phone or turn on the TV you just see it. But for myself now, moving forward and going into this season, I have to try and use this for motivation.”

And in a fresh turn of events, despite Pep Guardiola showing a clear sign of faith and belief in his £100 million man, Jack Grealish is attracting transfer interest from one of his former clubs, according to a sensational new report.

As per claims from TEAMtalk this week, Aston Villa are ‘keeping a close eye on’ the situation of Jack Grealish at Manchester City, and are considering a move for their former club captain on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy.

The report claims that Unai Emery’s side would offer the 28-year-old an opportunity to be a key player once again, following his experiences under Pep Guardiola over the last three seasons.

It is highly unlikely that Manchester City would be open to any deal for Jack Grealish this summer, never mind one that takes up an approach of a loan agreement, with the club believing that the 28-year-old can make things work this season.

Grealish’s competition for the wide roles has been stepped up in recent weeks however, with the signing of Savinho from Troyes, and Oscar Bobb’s exemplary performances during Manchester City’s three pre-season fixtures thus far.

Speaking on the arrival of the aforementioned Brazilian forward, Grealish told South American media this week, “He had a great season last year, he’s in the Brazil team, he must have some serious talent.

“I saw him at the training ground, seemed such a nice guy, very down to earth. I can’t wait for him to join and to start playing with him.”

Savinho and Jack Grealish in particular can expect to be reunited at the training ground from next Monday, as Manchester City’s senior stars report for pre-season duties at the City Football Academy ahead of the FA Community Shield against Manchester United.
