Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne could bring a bold change to his hairstyle in the not too distant future, if one of his international teammates is to be believed.

The Belgian is currently away on international duty alongside his Manchester City teammate Jeremy Doku and Domenico Tedesco’s squad at the UEFA European Championships in Germany.

Following a challenging season on a personal note for De Bruyne, having missed the entire first-half of the campaign through injury, consistent game time since the turn of the year has rebuilt the 32-year-old’s match sharpness and got him in a strong position for his country.

De Bruyne recorded his first goal of the ongoing European Championships in the second game of Belgium’s group stage, scoring against Romania to record a crucial win having tasted defeat in their tournament opener.

But that may not be the only transformational moment for the Manchester City vice-captain, with one of his teammates tipping him for a shocking new hairstyle in the coming weeks.

Conversing whilst away on international duty with Belgium at the ongoing European Championships, a brief exchange between midfield duo Amadou Onana and Kevin De Bruyne offered insight into what could come next in hairstyle for the Manchester City man.

“King Kev! I like your hair that way,” Amadou Onana admitted, and largely unprompted. Kevin De Bruyne, caught somewhat off-guard responded, “What?” to which the Everton midfielder continued, “I swear! I like your hairstyle. Long…”

In a funny response, the Manchester City made comparisons to his compatriot’s own hairstyle as he continued, “The same as you!”

“You also want those braids?” Onana asked. Having admitted that it would be possible, De Bruyne’s teammate turned to the camera to explain, “Soon we’re going to see Kevin De Bruyne with braids, that’s what he just said, so deal, done deal.

“I’ll probably advise him on what style to do. You know? But it’s coming soon.”

Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku are expected to return to Manchester in late July ahead of the club’s pre-season preparations, but it remains to be seen just how many of the matches in the United States they are involved in.

FIFPro regulations insist that players must be allowed at least three weeks holiday following the conclusion of a major tournament and the restart of club level responsibilities, with Manchester City’s first competitive contest taking place on Saturday 10 August.

As confirmed by the Football Association this week, Manchester City against Manchester United in the 2024 CommunityShield will take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 10 August at 15:00 (UK), broadcast live on ITV 1.
