Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta offered his verdict on recent speculation linking Simone Inzaghi with a Premier League move.
During his latest interview with Prime, as reported by FcInterNews, Marotta slammed the door shut for Inzaghi’s exit.
Simone Inzaghi has become one of Europe’s most sought-after managers during his trophy-laden stint at Giuseppe Meazza.
The 48-year-old has six major titles since taking charge of the Nerazzurri in 2021.
In addition to those honors, he guided Inter to their first UEFA Champions League final since the 2010 triumph in 2023.
Though Manchester City squeezed past the Italian giants in Istanbul, that clash reaffirmed Inzaghi’s managerial credentials.
Unfazed by that heartbreak, Inter won their 20th Scudetto the following year, further solidifying Inzaghi’s household status.
However, Inter have no intention of severing ties with their highly-rated manager.
Asked how he feels about the Premier League’s interest in Inzaghi, Marotta said: “On the one hand, pride, because it means that he is a good coach.
“He deserves the attention of many other clubs.
“I emphasize that his cycle is absolutely not close to the end, we are happy to have him with us.
“And from what I know he too. We have a great relationship, we are very proud of him.”
Meanwhile, Marotta also discussed the difference between Inter’s performances in Serie A and Europe.
“No, there’s one Inter that must rise to both challenges.
“We do so with pride; these are high-quality competitions.
“Managing this competitive stress is key, and the coach is handling it well.”
Finally, he talked about the importance of beating Arsenal tonight.
“With this format, there’s no way to manage the games selectively.
“You always have to go out and aim for the best result. Goal difference will play an important role.”
