Milan Mayor Confirms: ‘Revenue Agency Has Finished Their Assessment’ On Value Of San Siro Land For Inter Milan & AC Milan | OneFootball

Milan Mayor Beppe Sala says that the city’s revenue agency has finished their assessment of the land around the San Siro.

Speaking to reporters, via FCInterNews, Sala also updated that the city are awaiting an official statement of intent from Inter and AC Milan regarding their plans with the area.

In recent weeks, Inter and Milan have begun to shift towards the idea of building a new stadium in the San Siro area, adjacent to the existing stadium.

The clubs cannot demolish the iconic stadium and build a new one in its place.

And they have rejected Sala’s idea of renovating the stadium so that they can stay in it.

But at the same time, Inter and Milan could still stay right near the San Siro. They could build a new structure on the land adjacent to the stadium.

That would be instead of building outside the city proper, in the greater metropolitan area.

First, the clubs must formally confirm their intent to build adjacent to the San Siro, though.

And then, they would have to buy the land from the city. Currently they only rent the existing San Siro.

And as far as the price tag, Milan Mayor Sala said that “The revenue agency has finished their assessment.”

“But I can’t reveal what the figure would be at the moment,” he said.

“Our offices are examining it.”

Sala then said that “We’ve done what the clubs asked us to do.”

“Now we have nothing else to do for the moment. If the teams, through a formal statement of interest in the San Siro area, come forward then we can continue to work towards that.”

“We’ve already made some decisive steps forward,” Sala noted.

“Now we wait for a statement of interest. Until then, we have nothing else to do.”
