Inter President Beppe Marotta won’t ‘chase after statements’ after Al-Hilal said Simone Inzaghi had reached an agreement with the club before the 2025 Champions League Final and confirms interest in Ange-Yoan Bonny: ‘He’s on the list.’
Marotta spoke to DAZN before Inter made their 2025 Club World Cup debut last night.
“We are honoured to be involved in this competition and represent Italy, alongside Juventus, among the best 32 clubs in the World,” said the Inter President via TMW.
“We’re not here just to participate, we want to do well for the players, the club and the fans.”

It wasn’t only Cristian Chivu’s debut as Inter coach, but the Nerazzurri’s opening Club World Cup game against Monterrey was played just a few hours after Al-Hilal announced that Inzaghi had reached an agreement with the club days before the 2025 Champions League Final this past May.
“The only thing that matters is having ended one chapter and opened another. I don’t chase after statements,” said Marotta.
“We’re grateful to Simone Inzaghi and what he gifted us, but today the baton has been passed to Chivu, and Inter’s history goes ahead.”

Marotta also briefly spoke about transfers, confirming that Parma striker Bonny is among Inter’s transfer targets for the 2025 summer transfer window.
“Bonny is an excellent player; he’s among those on the list, but he is a Parma player,” Marotta concluded.
Sebastiano Esposito and Lautaro Martinez started up front against Monterrey last night, and the Argentine scored the equaliser in the first half, replying to Sergio Ramos’ opener.
