Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim would be happy to add Senne Lammens to his squad next season, and the feeling is reciprocal.

The Red Devils have already bolstered their No.10 roles by adding Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to their ranks. So it is past time they address other departments, including the goalkeeper’s role.

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano earlier this week, the Red Devils have mainly trimmed their options to two: Either bring in an experienced, yet expensive profile in Emiliano Martinez, or focus on an up-and-coming custodian who would initially serve as Andre Onana’s understudy before eventually replacing the Cameroonian.

Ruben Amorim would welcome Senne Lammens with open arms

Lammens is a Club Brugge youth product who was released in 2023, but went on to make a name for himself at Royal Antwerp, becoming one of the most reputable goalkeepers in the country, while attracting interest from clubs all around Europe.

In recent hours, it appears that the circumstances are favouring the 23-year-old Belgian, who would be a more affordable option, especially since offloading Onana remains a big ask this summer.

In his most recent update on CentreDevils, Man United insider Sully reveals that Lammens has already given his consent for what he described as a ‘dream’ move to Old Trafford.

Moreover, Amorim is all in favour of the transfer, giving the green light for the player’s arrival. Nevertheless, this deal also hinges on Altay Bayindir who must be offloaded to make way for Lammens.

The Turkish international has some suitors in Europe, so it remains to be seen if his departure will materialise in the coming weeks.

Lammens would be deligthed to join Man United

The source also recalls how Lammens was enchanted when he first learned about United’s interest, while insisting that he has what it takes to thrive in the Premier League.

“The first time I heard, I thought, ‘Wow’. Immediately, a world-renowned team that follows you. That is special. Of course, I was also spoken to about it a lot, and when I made a save in training, it was United this, United that…

“It’s only positive, especially because it’s the best competition in the world, and my profile, my stature, and my way of playing are similar to English football. You have to physically hold your own there, and that suits me.”

The next few days will certainly bear interesting developments on this particular front.
