Callum Osmand’s move to Celtic may be inching ever closer to becoming a reality, with The Herald reporting this evening that the Fulham youngster has been spotted at Lennoxtown ahead of finalising his transfer from the West London club.

Osmand is likely to be signed as a first team player, rather than a B Team option, for the upcoming Scottish Premiership season, with the player joining Celtic in a similar cross-border transfer to the one which saw Moussa Dembele make the same move in 2016.
This means Celtic will only have to be a nominal development fee to Fulham, after the striker was offered a contract extension with the EPL club, only to reject the offer in search of first team football.
The former Under 17 Welsh international scored 11 goals in 22 appearances for Fulham in the Premier League 2, as Fulham finished two points behind champions Manchester City this season. Osmand also managed 4 assists on top of his one in two goal record at Craven Cottage.
When Osmand does sign he will join Kieran Tierney as Celtic’s second signing of the transfer window, meanwhile the Hoops are also expected to conclude a deal for Aberdeen ‘keeper Ross Doohan to rejoin the club as a third-choice goalkeeper – replacing Scott Bain who has moved to Falkirk in search of first team football.

Celtic are also expected to sign Swedish international midfielder Benjamin Nygren, with the 23-year-old playmaker expected to cost £1.7m.
Celtic are also reported to be moving forward in negotiations to sign Michel-Ange Balikwisha from Royal Antwerp, with a fee in the region of £5m being mooted for the former Belgian Under 21 international winger.

Neither of those deals look like being concluded before Callum Osmand signs on as a Celtic player and backs himself to leave the pull of the English Premier League for a crack at top-flight Scottish football and perhaps a chance to play Champions League football, a tournament he was perhaps never likely to experience had he remained with Fulham.
