Peacock’s Love Undercover features five footballers in total, each using a false identity and seeking to establish whether they can find themselves a partner while CONCEALING their celebrity status back home.

Ryan Babel, who played 146 times for the Reds and was an established Dutch international, is taking part along with Lloyd Jones, signed by the Anfield club for £150,000 back in 2011.

Jones, 28, is the only currently active player in the show and is on the books of Charlton Athletic, although he hasn’t played since March.

They join Mexico Olympic gold medalist Marco Fabian, who played for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, and his compatriot, Sebastian Fassi, who played as a goalkeeper.

Rounding out the famous five is Jamie O’Hara, the former Tottenham midfielder and current media personality.

There will be 18 women attempting to win the hearts of the sport stars, in the show which commences on May 9, with new episodes dropping on May 16 and May 23.

Described as a ‘modern-day fairytale meets buddy comedy’, viewers can follow the players on their journey as they try to meet the woman of their dreams, as well as keep their identities a secret.

Disguised as contractors, ad salesmen and restaurant managers, this will be a far cry from the lives they are accustomed to.

“If she looks like Beyoncé, she's my type!,” Babel says in the trailer for Love Undercover.

Babel, 36, signed for Liverpool back in 2007 in a deal worth £14 million from Ajax. He later moved to Hoffenheim and last played for Eyupspor in Turkey.

Jones was considered one of the most promising teenage talents in the UK when he swapped Plymouth for Anfield in 2011.

The 6’3 defender never quite made the breakthrough on Merseyside although he did sit on the bench with the first team.

He was on Liverpool’s books until 2017, undergoing a sequence of loans, before joining Luton Town.
