Fabio, welcome to Borussia Dortmund. It was said that you had some interesting offers on the table. Why did you ultimately decide to join Borussia Dortmund?“Well, first of all, I'm very happy to be here. As you said, I had other options. But when my agent approached me about Borussia, I told him that this would be my first choice and my priority because I think it's the best move for my career at this point in time. And in the end, after a lot of patience and many discussions, it was difficult but we were ultimately able to make it happen together. And I'm very happy to be here.”

We're happy to have you here. What do you already know about the club, the stadium and the city?“I know a little bit, as I watched a lot of Bundesliga games before I came here, because some friends of mine play here. Yes, I follow the league and everyone knows about the Yellow Wall, the stadium and the atmosphere, which is one of the best in the world. It's crazy. And now I have the opportunity to play for this club, to show my football and my passion, and also to play for the fans. I think it's going to be something special.”

You have already spoken about your football. Many BVB fans perhaps won't yet know what your style of play is like. How would you describe your playing style?“Different. I think I like being different, and they can expect me to fight for the club. Of course, it's important for a striker to score goals and provide assists, but I think I'm a player who can give the team more and be a part of it. With my runs, my movement, my tackles. I think that at this stage of my career, I feel like a very complete player. I can be ready for whatever the coach needs. I'm really excited and want to be with the team and be as successful as possible.”

You're still young, but you've already played in major leagues. What are your personal objectives with BVB?“I'm 23, but I've already been to many countries and played in many leagues. So I have a lot of experience for my age, and I think that BVB are currently one of the best clubs in the world and play in the Champions League. So I'm really motivated, and I think that when you have such great players in your team as we do here, it's easier to compete on the pitch, and yes, with my team-mates behind me, it will certainly be easier for me.”

Your first appearance could come on Sunday. How much are you looking forward to it?“I'm looking forward to it a lot. I'm very happy. I want to play with the team as soon as possible. We don't know yet if it will be on Sunday, but let's wait and see. I'm really excited to play in front of the fans. I think it will be a special journey for me and for the club.”

A few weeks later, you will have the opportunity to play in the Champions League for the first time. Will that be a dream come true?“Yes, that would be a dream come true. You dream of playing against the best teams on the big stage. And I think now I have the opportunity to play in the Champions League with Borussia. It will be something special. Especially at home. I'm really looking forward to playing at home because it's sure to be a completely different atmosphere. I'm looking forward to making my Champions League debut and playing for the Black & Yellows.”
