Premier League Legend Alan Shearer isn’t convinced Chelsea will be where they currently are come the end of the season.
The Blues have exceeded expectations with their start to the campaign and currently sit second, two points behind leaders Liverpool and four ahead of Arsenal in third.
Enzo Maresca’s men have lost just two of their 16 league games and could go top if they beat Everton on Sunday, with Liverpool playing Tottenham in the later kick off.
Chelsea’s start has seen them placed in the title race conversation, but it’s something Maresca has been keen to play down on multiple occasions.
Enzo Fernandez has spoken of how the Blues are trying to avoid unrealistic expectations this season and the feeling amongst the squad is they are very much taking things one game at a time.

It still feels there are too many unknowns surrounding this Chelsea team and it could be a year too early to challenge for the title, but there’s no denying the Blues are playing some of the best football in the league currently.
There will be a drop off at some point and it will be interesting to see how Maresca and the players respond to that, but Shearer has stated he’s not convinced the Blues will be in their current position come the end of the season.
“The big surprise obviously is Man City and what’s happened to them. I can’t see Liverpool going away now,” he told The Rest Is Football.
“I’m not convinced Chelsea will be where they are at this moment at the end of the season, I could be wrong.
