How PSG could hand Real Madrid a major funds boost this summer | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid could be afforded a funds boost this summer, courtesy of none other than Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.

That’s according to Diario AS, who have confirmed that Mario Gila is firmly in the sights of PSG with a view to next season.

Gila, for his part, is a 24-year-old central defender, who has spent the last couple of years making a name for himself as one of Italian football’s standout stoppers on the books of Lazio.

The Spaniard has been hailed for his athleticism, anticipation and ability in the tackle, traits which have begun to pique the attentions of some of Europe’s leading clubs.

One such outfit come in the form of the aforementioned PSG, who, amid a search for reinforcements at the back for next season, have circled Gila’s name in red.

And should the recently-crowned European champions ultimately tie up a deal with Lazio, Real Madrid will also be in line to benefit.

Los Blancos maintain a 50% sell-on clause on Gila, as part of the deal which sent the defender to Rome back in the summer of 2022.

With a figure in the region of €40 million allegedly being sought by Lazio to open negotiations over a sale, Real, in turn, could be primed for an unexpected cash injection of close to €20 million over the weeks ahead.
