An insight into the reaction of Marc Guiu’s Barcelona teammates to news of his imminent departure from the club has today been forthcoming online.

The name of frontman Guiu has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last 24 hours.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the 18-year-old, amid pressing interest on the part of Premier League giants Chelsea, has come to the decision to bring the Barcelona chapter of his fledgling career to a close.

Chelsea are expected to activate Guiu’s €6 million release clause at some point over the coming days, with a contract agreement between the parties already in place.

So, how has such news been received at the youngster’s long-time club?

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, altogether poorly…

As per a report from Diario Sport, both those in the boardroom and the dressing room at the Camp Nou have been left nothing short of shocked by Guiu’s actions.

The striker has always been considered Barcelona through-and-through, expected to play a leading role in the colours of the Blaugrana for years to come.

Guiu, it is suggested, hinted at a possible summer exit to his close circle of teammates at Barca Atlètic, who assumed that as much would come in the form of a loan, potentially to Sevilla.

A permanent exit, though, was never seen as being on the cards, with this week’s news having therefore come as both a surprise, and a disappointment.
