“Here or not” – Chelsea-linked transfer target opens door for big move with latest comments | OneFootball

One Chelsea-linked transfer target has spoken out on his future and has left the door wide open to an exit very soon with his latest comments.

The Blues are often thrown out there as being linked with some of the big names around football, but I genuinely believe that this link had some legs at the time and there was certainly some real interest from Chelsea.

Whether that interest is still there or not remains to be seen, because Chelsea have signed heavily and signed a lot of quality in the same position since this interest was reported.

The interest was in winger Rayan Cherki from Lyon, with Chelsea apparently looking to sign him at one point back in the summer.

But the noise soon died down and the player ended up remaining at his club anyway. But the transfer rumours with others clubs as well continue, and the player himself has now opened up the door to a potential move away from Ligue 1 at the end of this season.

Liverpool, Arsenal, West Ham, Newcastle, Chelsea and Crystal Palace have all been linked with Cherki in recent times, with the battle for his signature sure to heat up.

“We’ll see at the end of the season if I’m still here or not,” the attacking midfielder bluntly replied when asked about his future after Lyon beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 in the Europa League on Thursday (via TBR).

French outlet L’Equipe have suggested Cherki could even leave as early as January, with Lyon needing to raise funds as soon as possible to avoid relegation.

I think he will be sold very soon, but I’d expect a summer move rather than in January. I cannot see Chelsea moving for him though.
