Josh Acheampong has revealed Tosin Adarabioyo is the player who’s helped him the most at Chelsea following his step up to the first team squad.

Acheampong along with fellow Cobham graduate Tyrique George was promoted to the first team squad last season.

The 19-year-old signed a five year contract back in December after being frozen out by Chelsea ,and was told he wouldn’t play for the club again unless he committed his long term future to the Blues.

Tosin has helped Acheampong the most

Achemapong is a right back, who can also play centre back and the teenager made four Premier League appearances last season, and seven in the successful Conference League campaign.

The Cobham graduate impressed on his first Premier League start against Crystal Palace, and perhaps would have expected more opportunities over the second half of last season.

Acheampong is currently part of the squad for the Club World Cup, but has only featured in one of Chelsea’s four games.

Acheampong revealed Tosin has helped him the most at Chelsea.

There’s fierce competition for places at both right back and centre back, and Acheampong was linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund last month.

Enzo Maresca has confirmed he wants to keep Acheampong this summer, and the youngster has revealed which team-mate has helped him settle in most.

“Tosin is the oldest in the team,” he said as quoted by The Mirror.

“He gives me advice if I need to ask him any questions. He’ll get me in the gym and stuff like that, so he’s good, he’s known as Uncle Tosin.

“He gives advice like to stay focused. Always, every day, try your best, work your hardest, do extras. Obviously, there’s tough days. Training might be tough, you might play a bad game, but you’ve got to try and stay focused.”

Chelsea looking to sign another defender

Despite the vast options at centre back the Blues are thought to still be in the market for a defender this summer.

Mamadou Sarr has arrived from Strasbourg, but it looks unlikely Chelsea will sign Marc Guehi, whilst another target Jarrad Branthwaite is set to sign a new deal at Everton.

A left sided defender is needed given there’s no back-up for Marc Cucurella, and Ajax star Jorrel Hato is a name of interest, although the teenager is attracting interest from other Premier League clubs.
