Pep Guardiola says he has never considered changing the way he wants his team to play despite enduring some tough moments over the past year.
City went seven games without a win last season but recovered in the second half of the campaign to finish third.
They have started this season with one win and one defeat, losing to Tottenham last time out.
But despite plenty of changes at City since January, which has seen former stalwarts such as Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne leave, and several new players arrive, Guardiola says his beliefs on how he wants his team to play have always been consistent.
“After winning 18 titles, I would change my plan?” he said.
“I’m pretty sure, after winning four Premier Leagues in a row, I’m going to change the way I believe my team is going to play?
“Never, ever will I change my beliefs in the way we are going to play.
“But if we regain up at the pitch, I want to attack quick. When the opponents make high pressing man-to-man and we break the first pressing, I want to attack quick.
“But after that, I love to pass the ball a thousand million boring, boring passes. I love it. I love my team to have the ball and play and play. I love it.”
City take on Brighton on Sunday looking to bounce back from the defeat to Tottenham.
