While fans wish NJ/NY Gotham FC was doing a little better on the pitch after back-to-back draws that should have been wins, they can at least celebrate the fantastic news released by the club. On Wednesday, the NJ/NY team unveiled a new season ticket option.
The first 5,000 fans who sign up for season tickets in 2026 will be a part of a season ticket membership known as The Blueprint. This is a way to award those who believe in Gotham FC. Current season ticket holders will have the ability to join first. Then, if tickets remain, those who are looking to obtain season tickets will be given a chance to obtain them.
Gotham FC is starting The Blueprint to not only create a legacy within the club, but to thank the fans that have been supporting the team through the good and the bad. From outside the club, this membership can also be viewed as a way to grow attendance further. The levels are not where they should be for a competitive team, especially after winning the NWSL Championship in 2023 and having their best regular season last year.
Yes, the numbers have grown over the last few years, with the Bats breaking the attendance record in the quarterfinals of the playoffs in 2024. Then, this past weekend's draw against the Washington Spirit had the fourth-highest attendance. But most games see less than 10,000 at Sports Illustrated Stadium. As such, the appeal of what The Blueprint offers can entice supporters to attend more matches.
But what will supporters get by being a member of The Blueprint? Per Gotham FC, fans will get "a five-year season ticket price lock, customizable and exclusive premium membership jackets, commemorative membership cards, two buddy passes to bring guests to games for free and access to special team events". They will have further access to the team compared to other supporters and can save up to 25% on tickets.
Meanwhile, it is unknown whether those who have regular-season tickets will have any of their perks change. It is also a little confusing about whether these 5,000 season tickets will be it despite the verbiage being about the first 5,000 season ticket holders. More information will probably become clearer once the season tickets go on sale.
Nevertheless, The Blueprint is a great thing for Gotham FC. It will be interesting to see whether all 5,000 tickets sell out quickly.
