Germany keeps climbing - New FIFA Men's World Ranking update

Germany were once again able to climb up the FIFA Men's World Ranking in their latest update: Julian Nagelmann's squad are now ranked 9th, meaning they were able to climb one place since the last update.

In between those updates, Germany lost their two Nations League games against eventual winners Portugal (1-2) and France (0-2). Germany are the only country in the top 20 to neither gain, nor lose any points in the rankings!

The Germans have been out of the top 10 for long periods between 2019 and 2024, before making a comeback due to great performances under Völler and Nagelsmann.

The ranking plays an important role when it comes to the determination of placements for European countries in groups and lot pots for big tournaments, such as the World Cup next year.

Germany's (and Croatia's) ascent has pushed Italy out of the top 10 - here is the full FIFA Men's World Ranking up until rank 20.
