The LA Galaxy kicked off their MLS Cup Playoff campaign with an emphatic game-one win in their opening-round series against the Colorado Rapids.
Scorers: Joveljić 32', 75', Nelson 52', Puig 54', 87'
Five goals from three different goalscorers saw the home side run out comfortable winners in the series opener, as John Nelson opened his MLS account, while Dejan Joveljić and Riqui Puig each bagged a brace.
Despite losing out on first place in the Western Conference on the final day of the season, the Galaxy look primed and ready for a deep postseason run after cruising to an opening-night victory.
Attention will now turn to game-two in Commerce City as the Rapids look to claw their way back into the series. Luckily for Colorado, with the best-of-three playoff format, the humiliating scoreline does little to dent their chances of making a comeback to find their way into the next round.
