With plenty of pressure resting on the Rossonerri’s shoulders heading into their match against Venezia as they were coming off the club’s worst start to a Serie A season in 40 years, Milan silence the critics as Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez inspire four-goal win at the San Siro, explains La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Despite a short amount of time in the Milanese dug-out, former Lille coach Paulo Fonseca finds himself in the hot-seat as he is heavily under scrutiny as a consequence of his side having conceded six goals and having failed to win a single match within the 2024/25 season’s opening three games of the season.

Hence, the Rossonerri received a daring welcome from their supporters whilst arriving to the San Siro by the bus, as a sea of red surrounded the outside of the stadium around the mode of transportation holding a banner stating “no more excuses; this is your last call”.

Milan managed to provide their supporters with a great sense of hope against Venezia, seizing all three points in fine fashion albeit the immense tension in recent weeks.

Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez made their mark instantaneously, combining in 88 seconds into the match as the Portuguese winger flicked a back-heel pass for the Frenchman in which his low-driven shot took a deflection and went past custodian Jesse Joronen. The two players had the San Siro roaring, reminding everyone why the pair are arguably the best left-sided duo across Europe on the pitch.

From there on, Milan shifted into third gear, having scored four unanswered goals in the first 45 and having sealed a clean-sheet after several leakages within the back-line in recent outings.

Despite it not being a perfect display across all fronts, it is certainly one that provides hope in the up and coming weeks as Milan prepare to face both Liverpool and Inter next.
