The stars could finally line up for Marcus Rashford to seal his dream transfer to Barcelona during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old has been on the Blaugrana’s radar for quite some time now. When the attacker was ousted from Ruben Amorim’s plans in December, the Catalan giants emerged as one of the candidates to sign him, alongside the likes of AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
In the end, Rashford ended up joining Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy set at £40 million.

Despite the Englishman’s exploits in Birmingham and his good rapport with Unai Emery, the high cost of the permanent transfer could ward off the Villains, especially if they fail to book their place in the Champions League next season.
Moreover, Amorim has made it clear that Rashford has no place in his plans next season, so he’ll have to find himself a new club.
Therefore, a dream transfer to Barcelona remains a possibility for the England international. As recently stated by Fabrizio Romano, the LaLiga leaders have already held internal talks as they plot a summer onslaught on Rashford.
“Internally at Barcelona, they still believe that Marcus Rashford could be an option for the summer transfer window,” said the Italian journalist.
“They believe at Barcelona that Rashford might be available on the market. They believe at Barcelona that Rashford could be a good solution because he can play as a No. 9 and play on the wing, so he can help in several positions.”
According to 90Min (via TeamTalk), Barcelona are looking to make room for Rashford by offloading Ansu Fati.
The 22-year-old was once celebrated as the club’s next superstar, but injuries and inconsistent performances have derailed his career. He also endured a forgettable loan stint at Brighton last season, before returning to Barcelona this term and playing a secondary role at Hansi Flick’s court.
As the source reveals, Fati has attracted interest from Besiktas, and the Blaugrana would be desperate to offload him along with his £200,000 per week salary.
It should be noted that Barcelona’s finances remain delicate, as evidenced by Dani Olmo’s mid-season registration crisis, hence why selling players is essential at this stage to avoid further issues with LaLiga’s FFP rules.
