Manchester United will host a barbeque at their training ground if they win the Europa League instead of planning a parade in Manchester.

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over 27.7% of the club he has overseen several cost cutting measures including redundancies, reducing charitable contributions and closing the staff canteen.

Despite beating Athletic Bilbao 7-1 on aggregate in the semi-final, the United players have only been offered two free tickets each with on the day travel included.

Players are allowed to buy 10 more tickets each but the travel arrangements and costs will have to be covered by the players themselves instead of the clubs.

Aside from the players, Manchester United are also not offering any of their staff complimentary tickets for the final, whilst Spurs have given their full-time employees one free ticket each for the match.

Instead it has been reported that they will host a screening for their staff in Manchester with plus ones invited. However, all staff will only get two free drinks and all plus ones will have to pay for themselves.

The Red Devils and Spurs have been allocated 14,770 tickets each for the game and United say they want as many of these as possible to be available for fans.

Tottenham have not announced their plans but it is believed that they will host a parade, they had one planned before they lost to Liverpool in the 2019 Champions League final.

Newcastle also hosted a parade after they won the EFL Cup earlier this year, however they had not won a trophy for 56 years.

In fact, Manchester United have not hosted a parade since they won the Premier League in 2013 despite winning two FA Cups, a Europa League and the EFL Cup in that time.
