In a summer that has often felt like one of churn and upheaval across the Premier League, Nottingham Forest have quietly focused on continuity. Ola Aina, one of last season’s standout performers, has signed a new three-year deal, extending his stay at the City Ground until 2028.
The 28-year-old’s journey has been anything but linear. Having once been tipped for stardom at Chelsea, it has taken time, setbacks and reinvention in Serie A before Aina found a proper home in Nottingham. That matters. “It’s always felt like a home ever since I joined and I’m happy to be here,” he said. “Now my focus is on preparing for the new season well and getting back to hard work.”

Forest’s qualification for the Europa Conference League play-offs was more than symbolic. It marked the club’s re-emergence on the continental stage, and Aina’s new deal is a nod to that momentum. In 59 appearances since his free transfer from Torino, Aina has become central to Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis captured the mood when he said, “Ola has skill, determination and character in abundance. He epitomises the culture and hard work we expect from everyone associated with Forest.”

This is no isolated renewal. Forest have been proactive, securing new contracts for key figures including Neco Williams, Chris Wood and Murillo. Manager Nuno himself signed a new three-year deal last month.

The message is clear: Forest’s rise is built on cohesion. And with Aina now committed for the long term, the foundation looks stronger than ever.
