Xavi Simons has removed RB Leipzig from his Instagram bio, in what is a clear transfer message according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues have already signed three attackers this summer in Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens and Liam Delap, with Estevao Willian also joining after a deal was agreed with Palmeiras last summer.

However, the Blues have identified Simons as a player they want to add, as they continue to revamp their attack ahead of next season.

Xavi Simons sends transfer message to RB Leipzig

Simons wants to join Chelsea, and his preference is said to be the Premier League, despite interest from German giants Bayern Munich.

Chelsea are thought to be close to agreeing personal terms with Simons, with Leipzig said to want a total package of £60m for the Dutchman.

The Blues remain locked in negotiations with Leipzig, and it had been said they needed to make some player sales, before moving to close the deal.

Chelsea are thought to be close to reaching a verbal agreement for Simons, who removed Leipzig from his bio on Instagram, and Romano has now provided an update.

“Today Xavi Simons removed Leipzig from his Instagram, so quite a clear message,” he said on his YouTube channel.

“Some say, ‘No, it’s not a transfer message.’ It is a transfer message! Xavi wants to go! Advanced talks with Chelsea on personal terms. Club talks ongoing.”

Simons can play both on the left and centrally making him a great fit for Enzo Maresca’s system, and he would provide another exciting attacking option.

Broja to join Burnley

Armando Broja is set to join Burnley, meaning he follows Joao Felix and Noni Madueke out the door in terms of attackers.

Broja’s departure may now make the space in the squad Chelsea are looking for, so they can push ahead and finalise the Simons deal.

Chelsea are also looking to sell Christopher Nkunku, but it’s unlikely his departure is linked to Chelsea being able to sign the 22-year-old.
