Inter Milan have been in contact with the representatives of Christopher Nkunku for several days, but Enzo Maresca believes he could be part of the Chelsea project according to reports.
Chelsea have made three attacking in signings Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, which have pushed Nkunku down the pecking order.
The Blues are trying to add further reinforcements to the front line and are in negotiations with RB Leipzig for Xavi Simons, whilst Alejandro Garnacho could also arrive.
Three attackers have already left Chelsea on a permanent basis this summer in Noni Madueke, Joao Felix and Armando Broja, with Nkunku likely to be next.
The 27-year-old has struggled to establish himself in the first team setup following his move from Leipzig for £52m in the summer of 2023.

Nkunku could manage just three goals in 27 Premier League appearances last season, but he did feature regularly at the Club World Cup, including in the final.
Despite his recent form, Chelsea are said to have set their asking price for Nkunku at £43.3m, and he’s attracting interest from clubs in the Premier League and Europe.
Newcastle and Nottingham Forest are said to be interested, whilst Inter Milan are believed to be working on a deal for the France international.
French outlet L’Equipe have backed up those reports, and have stated Inter have been in contact with Nkunku’s representatives for several days.
However, the report also adds Maresca has not made his departure a must, and believes the Frenchman can be part of the Chelsea project.
Whilst Nkunku appears to be heading to the exit door, Chelsea are trying to close the signing of Leipzig attacker Simons.
