Former Celtic Assistant Manager Chris Davies has heaped misery on Rangers as his Birmingham City side beat Philippe Clement’s team at St Andrews. The League One outfit hosted the Ibrox club, who are without a home at present, as part of their respective preparations for the new season.

Things didn’t go well for Rangers, however, as Davies’ team won 2-1 with Rangers being booed off by their travelling support.

Celtic fans will be keeping posted on Rangers’ progress, given that the teams meet fairly early in the league season – meeting at the beginning of September.

It is a good result for Davies, who is in his first managerial role after years as a No.2 with Brendan Rodgers and latterly Ange Postecoglou.

The former Liverpool coach was hired by Brendan when he became the manager in May 2019. The Irishman took Davies with him when he left for Leicester City in February 2019; however, when Rodgers returned in June of last year, Davies did not come back to Glasgow. Instead, he was hired by Ange at Spurs as his No.2
